FAQ

What payment methods do you accept?
We currently accept payment by VISA or Mastercard through Authorize.net.®  Confidential Information is encrypted using the Secure Sockets Layer protocal (SSL).   Authorize.net.® utilizes an address verification system (AVS) when processing credit cards.  If your card-issuing bank does not offer AVS, your card may be denied.   We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have difficulty completing payment, please do not try mutliple times - your bank may temporarily hold the funds as "pending", even if the charge has been denied by Authorize.net®.   Instead, please contact us for a paypal invoice.

If you prefer to pay with Paypal, please add items to your cart  and proceed through checkout until asked to enter credit card information by clicking continue with the Authorize.net button selected but stopping short of actually entering payment information.   Then, send us a note via the contact page with your name and total cart value.  At that point, we can view your cart contents and email a Paypal invoice.  Unfortunately, we are unable to integrate paypal directly with the site.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?
Yes!   Gift Certificates are available in any denomination between $1 and $1000.  Gift vouchers are sent via email with an attached image.   They are sent immediately upon receipt of payment, so for special occasions we recommned sending to yourself and forwarding on the appropriate day, or transferring the information to a physical card.  Voucher codes are case sensitive and have no expiration date.   To redeem, enter on the shopping cart page.

Where are discount codes / gift voucher codes entered?
Discount and gift voucher codes can be entered on the shopping cart page prior to proceeding to checkcout.   Codes are case sensitive.

Why is a phone number required to create an account?
This is a default requirement of the shopping cart platform.  We will never call unless there is an issue with your order and we are unable to reach you via email.  We will never disclose phone numbers or addresses to a third party.

Do you ship international?
Yes!  We appreciate our international customers very much, and have had the pleasure of sending fabric to dozens of countries. Shipping times can vary greatly, but we find they are typically in the two - three week range.  Please note that international customers are responsible for all import taxes and fees that may be due upon arrival.

Many international credit-card issuing banks do not support Address Verification (AVS), which is required for card processing.   In these cases we can send a custom paypal invoice - please contact us for additional information.

Do you offer local pick-up?
If you are local to the Portland-metro area (Oregon) and are interested in arranging a meeting to pick-up your fabric (near downtown or the hawthorne neighborhood) we will gladly credi shipping charges towards a future purchase.  Please contact us for additional information.

Do you accept pre-orders for upcoming collections?
We accept pre-orders on specific items only.  We do not accept pre-orders on yardage of future collections.  While this is becoming a popular trend among online fabric shops, there are no guarantees from manufacturers when new collections will ship, or if they will ship complete as ordered.  We prefer not to pre-sell fabric only to learn later that a shipment has been delayed or ordered amounts are not available as expected.

Can you special order fabrics not shown in the shop?
We are happy to place special orders (current collections only) after availability has been confirmed with the manufacturer.  Special orders require a minimum five yard purchase with a 50% deposit (non-refundable unless availablity changes).  Lead times on special orders can vary between two weeks and several months.  However, we can usually confirm a ship date from the manufacturer prior to ordering.  Please contact us for additional information.

Do you accept returns?
If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your purchase, fabric in original condition (unwashed, uncut, and odor-free), may be returned within 14 days of purchase (30 days international) for store credit good towards a future order.  Please send us a note via the "contact" page first so we know to expect something.  Be aware that shipping charges are NOT refundable. If you are uncertain of a color or pattern, please feel free to contact us for more information or to obtain a small sample at minimal cost prior to ordering.  2" x 2" swatch squares in limited quantity are available free of charge.  Items in the Remnants section are non-returnable.

What is a fat quarter?
A fat quarter refers to a quarter yard of fabric that is cut 18" x 22"  (including selvage) rather than 9" x  44".  It is popular among quilters because it can yield a greater variety of individual cut pieces than a standard 1/4 yard cut.  To order a fat quarter, simply check the "fat quarter" box and enter a decimal quantity of 0.25.  Please note that there is no way to change this once it has been checked, without removing and re-adding the fabric to your cart. 

Do you offer a price guarantee?
Yes!   If a price has dropped within 5 days of a purchase, please contact us with your name and order number to request a "price adjustment".  We will refund the difference in the form of a gift certificate towards a future purchase!
